Kum & Go Bathroom

So, I went to Omaha this past weekend to visit relatives for Thanksgiving. I made it just past Williamsburg on Interstate 80 before we had to stop, refuel, and get back on the road. Much to my surprise, the bathroom at the Kum & Go was horrible. Smelly, grungy, and in the need for a little TLC. So, I thought I would take a snap-shot with my 5MP camera and then post about it to show my objection online.

I thought the piss/dirt stains on the floor mad a nice touch during my short stay. I can only guess to why it wasn’t at least semi-clean.

• Interstate bathroom doesn’t get much traffic?
• I got in the bathroom just right before they were suppose to clean it?
• Bathroom cleaning is contracted out and not available during holidays?

Nah, I’m figuring that its one of three things.

• Store isn’t staffed appropriately
• Store isn’t monitored for bathroom cleanliness very well
• Bathroom is cleaned by Apes who throw feces at each other

Whatever the reason may be, Kum & Go should be ashamed of the cleanliness of this bathroom. I can’t tell you how many other Kum & Go’s I skipped during the rest of my travels on I-80 because of that experience. It’s probably not fair to the other owners of Kum & Go stores that provide a well kept bathroom but I’m not willing to take that chance. Kum & Go have lost my business until they can show the basic courtesy of getting a bathroom clean. Its such a shame that I came across this K&G to begin with. I mean, I’ve known K&G to do a lot of great things for the community as far as giving donations and supporting causes across the State of Iowa. That being said, maybe they should invest a little bit more time an effort in ensuring their bathrooms are clean?

Now, I will say this is not the most horrific I-80 bathroom I have ever been to by any stretch of the imagination, but it was pretty bad. On a scale of 1 to Danny Bonaduce, I’d say it was about a 6.5 on the totally disgusting scale. From looking at the picture your probably thinking, “Hey, I’ve seen worse.” Believe me, once you add the piss smell and get a good look of the floors, you would be thinking about getting away with going in the parking lot.
