Just some stuff I talk about.
I Am Not A Tea-Bagger
Is talking about religion and politics bad for personal blogging? If it is, let me apologize for this post up front but I am going to do so anyway. I’ve been pretty interested in this whole Libertarianish movement thats been stewing around in the world of politics. I say “Libertarianish” because most people are not ready to go whole hog on all the Libertarian principals (Gold Standard, removal of Federal agencies, etc…). I’ve pretty much agreed with a majority of what Ron Paul has talked about since the 2008 election in regards to our military and economic policy. Which is weird because I consider myself a somewhat progressive minded individual. The problem I currently have, is all these wack-job Conservatives who believe Obama is the next coming of Hitler have tied their identity to this movement as well. It seems like anything that is now anti-Obama is the new Libertarian or “Tea Party” point-of-view. I find this to be pretty outrageous considering the type of administration these assholes backed when George W. Bush was El Presidente’.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, there is a whole slue of people like me in this country who are not happy with the Obama administration (jobs, economy, wars, etc…). What that doesn’t mean, however, that the Republican Party is any better in running this country by default. That can’t be further from the truth. I identify myself with what the Libertarian Party has been dishing out and thats not the same product the Tea Party is providing. Yet, somehow, the lines are becoming blurred between the two. All I get from the Tea Party protests is how Obama is ruining this country and we need to cut taxes some more. I’m sure they stand for many similar items upon the Libertarian docket, but I strongly disagree with hatred and disinformation that is spewed from its followers. When you use FEAR as your primary platform, you’ve already lost me.
