Windows Live Messenger – Not On Startup
Ok, so I used a program called FileHippo to check for new updates for all my installed programs on my machine. What a great program! I've used it to keep all my stuff up-to-date as well as finding other popular programs that are being installed that I don't have yet. Everything with the program is great, but I ran into a little snafu when attempting to update my Windows Messenger. I'd HIGHLY recommend the FileHippo application to keep all those programs updated. However, this isn't a FileHippo issue but *gasp* a Microsoft issue.
It seems that the new Windows Live Messenger (LVM) is a piece of shit does not work like the older versions of Messenger. Normally, I would go into the control panel and uninstall the Windows Messenger in the Windows components but it was nowhere to be found. I guess the newer version has changed to Windows Essentials and is installed just like all other regular programs. I thought that I might keep it installed but switch it off on startup just in case I want to fire it up and check it out at a later time. You see, I use Pidgin to connect to any of my instant chat needs and could care less about what Windows thinks I need to have on startup. So, I pulled up the application and tried to find the options...
Ummmmmmm... Where the hell are the options? No top navigation menus? WTF? I pulled up msconfig.exe from the command line and didn't see anything in the startup there either? The help menu was WORTHLESS as it normally is when it comes to Microsoft. I can't believe I actually took the time to figure it out instead of just uninstalling the application. This is why Microsoft F'ing sucks. They make everything so god damn complicated. Its no surprising people move to a MAC to get things simplified.
After some perusing and googling on the interwebs, I found someone who had a screenshot of how to get to the menu options after they were signed in. Apparently, the menu options are just as difficult to get to even when your signed in. Did you see anywhere to get to the options? Well, I finally found it and I think I have to uninstall the program just on principal.
Here ya go:

The options are in the "Sign In As". What the fuck? Are you fucking kidding me? Excuse my language, but this is crazy stupid. Microsoft, I hate you.
